Metabole

A metabole is characterized by the intersection and piling up of different sounds perceived simultaneously. Vague listening is at times metabolic; nothing in particular emerges from it. The assemblage of the different sources leads to a transformation of the whole and results in a confusion of perception in the hearer. It is the field of instability and its changeable character that remain the most important notions of the metabole.
